England chose to bat and scored 75/0 on first day. Riding on highest partnership in India-England series by Pietersen and Bell England reached 457/3 on Day 2 at stumps. Rain forced England to declare at 591/6. India lost 5 wickets in one session to end 3rd day at 103/5. On 4th day, India reached 300 for the first time in series, but were out again in 3 sessions. Following on they made 129/3. Despite huge partnership between Tendulkar and Amit Mishra, last 6 wickets folded in just 21 runs. Test series resulted in 5th whitwash in India-England history.
