Electing to bat first KKR sprung a surprise by sending Yusuf Pathan to open with Captain Gambhir. Till 6th over they scored 46 and appeared they have control over the game. But Morris, the South African diamond of CSK broke the partnership by sending back Gambhir (19-ball 25 runs) with the help of an diving astonishing catch by oldie Michael Hussey on the boundary. With that started the collapse that let KKR reach only 119/9 in 20 overs. Pathan also scored 25 but took 22 balls. Kallis was run out without facing a no ball thanks to Pathan, who got himself run out being too hesitant for an international player to grab the second. Morgan (2) finally failed. Tiwary (13) continued his bad form. Debabrata Das (15-ball 19 runs showed some spark with 2 sixes of Ashwin, but succumbed to him finally. CSKs chase of 120 runs
