RR Batting
Sent to bat first Rajasthan Royals struggled as Watson (6 runs) continued his struggle. Rahane failed again to take the attack to opposition and was prey of Unadkat on 13-ball 14 runs. Dravid and Binny added 40 runs in next 5 overs. But with Binny’s wicket (20-ball 33 runs with 4 boundaries and a six) the slide started. Dravid (35 runs, 31 balls, 5 boundaries, Hodge (13 runs), Yagnik (5 runs), Faulkner (3 runs) Sreesanth (0), Tait (1) and Trivedi (3) were part of the collapse while Chandila remained unbeaten on 4 runs.

For RCB Rampaul bowled a maiden to finish on 19/2. RP Singh was the most economical with 13/3. Vinay Kumar was adjudged MOM for 18/3. Unadkat (1/32) and Kartik (1/35) were expensive.

RCB Chase of 118 runs
Returning into the squad Dilshan scored 22-ball 25 runs to add 53 runs in 6.4 overs. Watson finally bowled after a long time and had figure of 2/11 in 2 overs. He sent back Dilshan and AB de Villiers (7 runs). Kohli (1 run) was bowled by Faulkner, and was again angry, probably on himself this time, for a change. But Gayle kept playing his patient game and returned unbeaten on 44-ball 49 runs with 4 boundaries and a six. Saurabh Tiwary playing his first match of the edition scored 29-ball 25 runs with 2 boundaries and a six.

For Royals, except Chandila (21/0) and Faulkner (21/1) none were economical. Sreesanth gave away 9 runs in his only over. Tait bled 30 runs in 3 overs. Trivedi also went for runs giving 26/0 in 3.5 overs.
