IPL 2013 Match 50: Royals Set for Huge Win against Warriors

The 50th match of the season has a knocked out team Warriors playing against the semifinal aspirant Rajasthan Royals. Royals would seek revenge for their defeat at Pune as well as those vital points that could put them ahead in the reckoning for the final. Considering the past record Jaipur is another fortress that is yet to be breached. Among all the teams Warriors at this stage of tournament does not give the confidence of winning anywhere, breaching the fortress is too tough a demand for them.

History
Warriors registered their first win over Royals in 4 matches in their first clash of 2013. In 2011 and 2012 Rajasthan Royals has won remaining 3 matches.

Overall IPL Performances
Warriors have won only 10 matches while losing 30, the worst record by any team in IPLs history. They are struggling in 2013 to even match their best record of 4 wins a season.
Royals on the other hand have raised hopes with their tournament victory of 2008 but since then they are just hovering around the semifinal line unable to cross it again. Since 2008, at present they have their best chance.
Royals have won 44 and lost 38 matches so far.

Team Comparison
Rajasthan Royals best chances of reaching the semifinal is a result of team effort. Still there are individual heroes too. Faulkner has reached the Purple Cap with one of the best IPL performances, although he failed to retain it but has been economical even in loss against KKR. Watson has been hitting big scores, including a century and is racing towards the Orange Cap. Indian contingent is matching their performances with international players. While Trivedi and Chandila are already stars, Sanju Samson appears to have a claim on a seat of Indian team bus.

Warriors on the other had one of the best teams on paper but after 3 captains and many goof ups they are left nowhere. Nothing has worked for them. They first need to settle their house. Just having good players never helps. After playing many test matches in last 8 matches, Uthappa finally played an IPL knock although it was not enough for the team as others failed. That has been the trend of Warriors. They play as if only one or two player needs to perform.

Verdict
Finch surprised Rajasthan Royals in their first match but now even he has been subdued. They have a very inconsistent batting and that may run helter skelter against the Royals bowling at Jaipur. Addition of Watson and emergence of Sanju Samson has made RR batting look very strong. Overall this could be one of the most one-sided match of the season and Royals would emerge winner.
