2000 ICC KnockOut Trophy

Kenya hosted one of the most unpopular Cricket Championships despite being granted a huge amount well in advance to organize it. After South Africa achieved the record in 1998, New Zealand won their only ICC event (as till 2013) in 2000.

Winner
New Zealand were the surprise winner of the tournament winning their first-ever ODI trophy. Stephen Fleming led team surprised Pakistan in the semifinal and India in the final by with Chris Cairns hitting a century in the chase and another Chris (Harris) joining hands to add match-winning 122 runs for 6th wicket.

Interesting Facts

    Three matches saw 265 runs as total, and the teams reaching the total won.
    NZ won semifinal and final by 4 wkts.
    Ganguly and Cairns scored centuries in the final.
    Except the Final match, all other 6 matches of the main tournament had losing teams bowled out.
