Indian Swimming Record: 10 Olympics, 27 Swimmers, 14 Events, None Still in 2nd Round

India first sent swimmers to Olympics in 1932. Since then Rio 2016 was the 10th Olympics for Indians. Sajan Prakash and Shivani Kataria followed the footprints of previous 25 Indian swimmers who failed to enter the 2nd round at Olympics in 14 events of previous 9 Olympics. As only two swimmers have appeared in Olympics twice for India, Men’s 100 metres Freestyle and 200 metres Breaststroke have seen maximum Indians participating. India’s biggest contingent was sent in 1952 Olympics. Since 2000 India has been sending swimmers to Olympics regularly.
