Badminton Asia Championships 2018: 4 Indians in QF to Match Record of Dinesh Khanna

Top seed Srikanth Kidambi, third Seed PV Sindu, unseeded HS Prannoy and Saina Nehwal have entered the quarterfinals of Badminton Asia Championships 2018. Starting since 1962, Chinese have dominated the event and Dinesh Khanna is the only Indian to have ever won a title (1965) in this Championship. The event is held from Apr 24-Apr 29 at Wuhan, China. As three of them play Koreans, Sindhu is the only one who leads head-to-head vs opponent. Check schedule in IST and head-to-head record.

Quarterfinal Schedule in IST:
2.30 p.m: Srikanth Kidambi vs 5th seed Lee Chong Wei (Malaysia)
3.15 p.m. 12th seed Saina Nehwal vs 15th seed Lee Jang Mi (Korea)
5.00 p.m. PV Sindhu vs 7th seed Sung Ji Hyun (Korea)
6.00 p.m.: HS Prannoy vs 2nd seed Son wan Ho (Korea)

Head-to-Head
HS Prannoy trails 1-3 to Son Wan Ho. He won the only match at Asia Mixed Team Championship 2017.
Kidambi trails Lee Chong Wei 0-4 with their last official meeting in 2015. Recently they played two matches at Commonwealth Games 2018 where Srikanth won during team event, while Lee Chong Wei won the Men’s Singles final.
Sindhu leads Sung Ji Hyun 7-4 winning 4 of the last 5 matches played in 2016 and 2017.
12th seed Saina will face 15th seed Lee Jang Mi for the first time.

Indian Doubles team could not proceed to quarterfinals.
