2018 Women’s Hockey WC: Indian Schedule and Results

Indian Women are playing in their seventh Hockey World Cup. From finishing 4th in 1974 Hockey World Cup to the fall from 1990s onward has impacted their performance at World Cup too. In 2018, placed in Group B with Olympic Champion England and 2014 World Cup third placed USA, Indians will be one of the Sixteen teams split into four groups to compete in a total of 36 matches over two weeks at London, England. 18-year old Lalremsiami is the youngest in squad while 31-year old Deepika Thakur is the oldest and the team member with maximum international caps too. Indian Women will start campaign in Group B against England, which has a squad featuring eight Rio Olympic gold medallists. Ireland and USA are other two teams of the group. Two teams from every group will qualify for Quarterfinals.

England, Ranked 2nd is one of the favourites that too playing at home. Indian fans will be hopeful though considering some good performances of Indian Women’s team in the past.
