2010 Indian Sports Awards Announced, Khel Ratna for Saina

Delhi, India: The list of award recipients for 2010 Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award, Arjuna Awards, Dhyan Chand Awards, Dronacharya Awards and Rashtriya Khel Protsahana Puruskar was announced. The President of India will award the awardess on 29th August, 2010 at rashtrapati bhawan. Here is the list of award recipients.

Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award (a medal, scroll of honours and cash of Rs 750,000)

Arjuna Awards (bronze statuette of Arjuna, a scroll and Rs 500,000)
Dinesh Kumar (Kabaddi), Deepak Kumar Mandal (Football), Dinesh Kumar (Boxing), Jasjeet Kaur Handa (Women’s Hockey), Jagseer Singh (Para-Olympics athletics), Joseph Abraham, Julan Goswami (Women’s Cricket), Kapil Dev KJ (Volleyball), Krishna Poonia (Athletics), Parimrajan Negi (Chess), Sandeep Singh (Men’s Hockey), Sanjeev Rajput (Shooting), Rajeev Tomar (Wrestling), Rajesh Chaudhary (Yachting), Rehan Jehangir Poncha (Swimming)

Dhyan Chand Awards (A plaque, scroll of honour and Rs 150,000)
Anita Chanu (Weightlifting), Kuldeep Singh (Wrestling), Satish Pillai (Athletics)

Dronacharya Awards (scroll of honour, bronze statuette of Dronacharya and Rs 300,000)

Rashtriya Khel Protsahana Puruskar (Trophy and citation)
Khel Evam Yuva Vibhag (Government of Madhya Pradesh), Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) (2 awards for Community Sports Identification and nurturing of budding and young talent and Employment of sportsperson and sports welfare measures, Tata Steel Limited

Rashtriya Khel Protsahana Puruskar has been initiated in 2010.
