Asian Games 2014 Day 2 Results: Indians Manage Only One Bronze

Jitu Rai again had to step in as India managed just one medal during the day. The Bronze earned in the 10m Air Pistol Men’s Team Finals by Jitu Rai, Samaresh Jung, Prakash Nanjappa Papanna. In Squash Dipika and Saurav will play the semifinals assuring at least a Bronze, while Women’s Badminton Team is assured of a Bronze medal too.

Positive Results of the Day

    Indian Women’s Handball team surprised the Thailand team by grabbing a tie.
    Shruti Vora and Nadia Haridass qualify for the final of Dressage Individual Intermediate I.
    Rowing Men’s Eight Heat qualified for finals.

On Sept 21, Indian athletes participated in 12 of the 24 Sports events. Indians played in 9 medal events of 3 Sports out of the total 8 Sports that offered 24 Gold medals on Day 2.
