Ashwin Grabs Another World Record as India Make Merry in Colombo Test

With just one bad series, critics took out sword to question the legend. Still, he continued to break all bowling records by being the fastest to 250 wickets and more. On a day where Indians created new records of 600+ runs in test matches and equalled record of 6 50+ scores in an innings, Ashwin emerged as the fastest test allrounder. He has left behind the likes of Hadlee, Ian Botham, Imran Khan, Shaun Pollock and of course other famous Indian test allrounders.

He is now the fastest to have completed a double of 2000 test runs and 250 wickets. He required 51 tests that is 3 lesser than previous record holder Richard Hadlee.

Overall, he is the 15th test player in world to achieve the feat. From India Kapil Dev, Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh find place in the illustrious test allrounder list.
