Asian Champions Trophy 2016: India Trounce China, Ensure Top 2 Finish

With a game still left at Group Stage, India ensured top two finish. Their game against the hosts Malaysia will decide the group topper. Defending champion Pakistan also sealed the third semifinalist place. With two more days to go for Group Stage, Malaysia and South Korea get two games each, while remaining teams have a game each left to decide the final rankings. Today, India won 9-0, while Pakistan won 4-3 in their respective 4th games of Round robin stage at Asian Champions Trophy 2016.

Rupinder Pal Singh is the captain today. Before today, The last time, India played China was at the Incheon Asian Games where they won 2-0. Rupinder now has 8 goals in the tournament. All of penalty corners.

Japan is the only team that has lost all four matches. China and Pakistan play their last match against each other. A win for Pakistan will get them closer to third. South Korea has 2 points less than Pakistan but they have two games at hand. They need to win at least one to ensure semifinal spot, if China creates an upset against Pakistan.

India vs Malaysia will decide the group topper as both are separated by just one points but Malaysia has two more games left. Still, if India defeats Malaysia, it will seal the top spot.
