7 Gold medals are at stake in Asian Games 2014 for Badminton. India is sending 8 Men and 5 Women to participate in 7 events of Badminton. In the past, India has won 7 Bronze medals at the Asian Games. 18 countries are participating in the 7 events of Badminton starting from 20th September and finishing on 29th September. In 2010, Indians failed to win any medals. In 2014 Indian Women’s team added a Bronze to take Indian tally to 8 Bronze medals at Asian Games after 2014.
HS Prannoy who has won the Indonesian Super and reached Singapore Open final in the two weeks before Asian Games is not included in the team. Jwala Gutta’s injury has put Ashwini Ponnappa in a fix about doubles partner.

12 Countries are participating in the event. China, Malaysia, Japan and Indonesia are already in the quarterfinal by draw. India needs to beat South Korea in the first round to meet Japan in the Quarterfinal.
