Asian Games 2018: Neeraj Chopra Will be the Flag-Bearer for 572-member Indian Contingent

20 year old India’s first Javelin Thrower to win Gold at Commonwealth Games (2018), Neeraj Chopra will be the flag bearer of Indian contingent at Asian Games 2018, starting from Aug 18 in Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang.

Last month, he also won Gold at the Sotteville Athletics meet in France. Chopra also holds the U-20 world record with a throw of 86.48m. He won the gold medal in the Asian Athletic Championships in 2017 and also bagged gold in the 2016 IAAF World U-20 Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

Sardar Singh, Indian Hockey Captain, was the flag-bearer for 2014 Asian Games where India won 57 medals that included 11 gold, 10 silver and 36 bronze medals.

572 Indians will participate in 36 Sports at Asian Games.
