Asian Games 2018: Rahi Wins Gold, Wushu Wins Best Asian Games Performance

Day 4 of Asian Games 2018 saw Indians winning 1 Gold medal from Rahi Sarnobat in Shooting and 4 Bronze medals from Wushu squad. From 2006, when Indians started participated in Asian Games Wushu this is the biggest performance in terms of medals won in one edition. Before this, in three editions Indians won 1 Silver and 3 Bronze medals. Indian Hockey created a record of biggest win in 86 years. Indian Tennis squad also confirmed two Bronze medals by reaching semifinals, while Archery squad stood second only to Korea in Ranking round. Archery: While yesterday was Ranking Round for Recurve, today Indians participated in Ranking Round for 5 events of Compound and they finished second just to Korea.

    Compound Women’s Individual – Jyothi Surekha Vennam 2nd, Muskan Kirar 9th, Madhumita Kumari 11th, Trisha Deb 19th
    Compound Women’s Team – Ranked 2nd
    Compound Men’s Individual – Abhishek Verma 4th, Aman Saini 16th, Rajat Chauhan 18th, Sangampreet Singh Bisla 19th

    Mixed Team – Ranked 2nd

Gymnastics: Indian women team finished 7th
Hockey: Indian Men create record of winning by biggest margin as they won 26-0 against Hong Kong.

Rowing
Indians won all Repechage round of all three events to reach the final.

Shooting: 1 Gold
In Two events, Shooting provided one gold medal as Rahi Jeevan Sarnobat created Games record in 25m Pistol Women where Manu Bhaker finished 6th in final. In 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women, Anjum Moudgil and Gayathri Nithyanandam failed to qualify for final.

Swimming: Out of 4 events today, Indians reached final of Men’s 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay and finished 8th.

Tennis: Two Bronze medals confirmed by reaching semifinals. Ankita Raina in Women’s Singles and Rohan Bopanna / Divij Sharan in Men’s Doubles reached semifinals.

Volleyball: Indians lost to Qatar.

Wrestling: Harpreet Singh lost Bronze medal match of Men’s Greco Roman – 87 Kg.
Naveen lost in first round, while Gurpreet and Hardeep lost quarterfinal and then Repechage.

Wushu
4 Bronze medals won in Wushu as all semifinalists from India lost.
