Indians have won 9 Gold, 16 Silver and 32 Bronze medal in Boxing at the end of 2018 Asian Games. The medal tally is led by South Korea and Indians with 57 medals are ranked 9th. While the first Gold was won in 1962 by Padam Bahadur Mall and Hawa Singh is the only Indian to win 2 Gold medals, 2018 saw Amit Panghal being the first Indian to win Gold medal in 49Kg weight Men’s category and Vikas Krishan Yadav being the first Indian to win three medals in Boxing at Asian Games ahead of 7 boxers who had won 2 medals. Since 1958 till 2018, only in 2002 Asian Games Indians failed to win any medal while introduction of 3 event in Women’s Category saw Indians achieve their biggest haul in 2010 Asian Games.
