Unseeded Sourabh Varma fought hard for 45 minutes but 4th seed Chinese survived the scared winning in two tough straight sets. India could not win 5th title at Bitburger Open while all the Chinese finalists emerged winners. Men’s Doubles title went to Malaysian pair where the only team from host Germany finished Runners up. Two top seeds won, while one top seed lost in the five events where only in two events saw the finals between top two seeds.
Sourabh Varma could not emulate Chetan Anand, and failed to add second international title to his profile after Taipei Open 2016.
Sourabh Varma lost 21-19 22-20 in 45 minutes.
