Dola Banerjee Profile: 1st Indian Archer to Win World Championship Gold

Dola Banerjee is the first Indian archer to have ever-won a Gold medal in Archery World Championship. She achieved the feat in 2007. Here is a profile of the World Champion Archer from India.

Archer’s Profile

The first-ever Indian archer to win the Gold in World Championships, is the cousin of the Indian singers Shaan and Sagarika. Her younger brother Rahul Banerjee is also an archer and has helped Indian Men’s recurve team win Gold in 4th stage of Archery World Championships 2010 at Shanghai, China.

    August 2007: Gold in individual recurve title of the fourth leg of the Meteksan World Cup archery at Dover (England)
    November 2007: Gold medal in the Women’s individual recurve competition at Dubai Archery World Cup
    2010: Gold Medal in Women’s Team Recurve with Deepika Kumari and L Bombayala Devi
    2010: Bronze medal in the Recurve Individual event


    2005: 1st Indian Woman Archer to receive Arjuna Award
