Eng in Ind 2016 Batting Stats: Tale of 2nd Innings Collapses, 6 Centuries, 9/10 All out for England

While the batting saw Rashid fight a lone battle, batting was not much different with Root being the only consistent performer. 9 times all out in 10 innings, specially with huge collapses English batsmen may feel scared batting in second innings now. While the deep batting line up did not work, Moeen Ali did create an English record and Joe Root became the second highest scorer of the series after Player of the series Kohli. English batsmen played so differently in two innings that they created dubious record of losing by innings after scoring high scores in first innings. Moeen Ali managed to be the only English player to win a Player of the match award (at Rajkot).
