Playing the last game of the round robin stage, needing a win to qualify for the final against Australia, India could manage only a draw 1-1 against Pakistan. India will meet Australia A for the bronze medal match, while better goal difference takes Pakistan to the final against Australia.
Pakistan took the lead through another penalty corner conversion by Sohail Abbas. Yuvraj Walmiki equalised for India in the 26th minute. But later Indian forwards could not convert any move into goal.
The 1-1 draw sent Pakistan to the final, without winning any match, against Australia. India had a goal difference of minus eight, while Pakistan had a goal difference of minus six.
Earlier India played another draw with Pakistan, and lost two matches to Australia.
