Germany just needed a draw to seal quarterfinal spot from Pool D. Malaysia needed a miracle win. The Asian Games 2018 Runners up chased the win and appeared getting close to it till three quarters. In the end, with 5-3 win Germans joined Australia on being the only two teams of four pools to finish with a clean slate winning all three matches.
