While Day 1 and Day 2 saw just 4 and 5 wickets falling, Day 3 saw 10 wickets falling as Shami, Umesh Yadav, Amit Mishra, and other bowlers helped Kohli force a Follow-on and Ishant Sharma picked the only wicket to fall in the second innings too. Last time when West Indies had to follow-on at home was in 2006 and then they drew the test. But, now they have 9 wickets to save for the next 2 full day. While Saha made sure that with 6 dismissals his name is remembered for long at West Indies, Darren Bravo, Samuels and co have a long struggle at hand to save the game.

Day 3 Statistics

    6 dismissals in an innings makes Saha the only wicketkeeper to achieve the feat at West Indies.

Day 3 Summary
Resuming from 31/1, fighting a lone battle West Indies opener KC Brathwaite scored 74 runs and fell as 7th wicket caught behind on the bowling of Yadav. In between he say Bishoo (12) stymped on the bowling of Mishra as they added 38 for 2nd wicket, and then the quick downfall. Darren Bravo (11), Samuels (1) and Blackwood (0) fell to Shami. Bravo and Samuels were caught behind, while Blackwood was caught by Rahane. The score read scary 92/5.

Chase (23) added 47 runs with Brathwaite but was caught by Kohli on the bowling of Yadav as the pressure increased. After Brathwaite’s wicket from 144/7, Dowrich )unbeaten 57) and Captain Holder (36) brought some entertainment for crowd with big hits. But, they could add only 69 runs for 8th wicket. Umesh Yadav took two wickets on consecutive balls, sending Holder and CR Brathwaite (0) back and West Indies were 213/9. Dowrich increased the attack and added valuable 30 runs but on 243 Gabriel (2) was bowled by Mishra.

Umesh Yadav (4/41), Shami (4/66) and Amit Mishra (2/43) were the successful bowlers while Ishant (0/44 in 20 overs) and Ashwin (0/43 in 17) kept the pressure on.

Asked to follow on, first innings saviour KC Brathwaite was leg before in the first over as Ishant Sharma opened his account in the game. In 13 overs bowled between Ishant (4), Shami (4), Yadav (3) and Ashwin (2) West Indies reached 21/1 still trailing by 302 runs as Chandrika (9) and Darren Bravo (10) returned unbeaten.

Will they see the Stumps of Day 4? That is the big question as they have 9 wickets at hand, 2 days of game to play and still trailing by 302 runs.
