India and the History of 200+ Individual Test Scores

Till July 2016, India has 44 individual scores of 200 or more, including the two triple centuries by Sehwag. The top three scores have been achieved by Sehwag, who is the only player in the World alongwith Bradman, Lara and Gayle to score two triple hundreds or more. Indians scored at least one 200+ individual score every year. Overall 23 of the 44 Indian 200+ scores came during 1999-2010, years when Fab 5 ruled the Indian batting. Sehwag and Tendulkar scored 6 each, Dravid 5, Laxman 2 and Ganguly 1. Outside Fab 5, Wasim Jaffer also contributed 2 double centuries in that phase. While Umrigar was the first double centurion from India, Vinoo Mankad remains the only Indian to score more than one double century in the same series.     Interesting Facts about Indians Missing 200 score

      Azhar is the only one to be left just one short of 200 in 199 vs Sri Lanka, Kanpur, 1986
      Azhar and Tendulkar have two test scores in 190s.
      Tendulkar is the only Indian to have remained unbeaten in 190s once in 194* vs Pakistan, Multan, 2004 as Captain Dravid had to declare the innings.
