Bowling
Indian bowlers ruled the tour grabbing 58 of the 60 English wickets. Chetan Sharma (16), Roger Binny and Maninder Singh (12 each), Kapil Dev (10), Shastri (5) and Madan Lal (3) were the wickettakers.

English bowlers could take only 48 wickets. Pringle (13), Dilley (10), Edmonds (7), Lever (6), Emburey (4), Foster (4), Radford (2), Ellison and Gooch (1 each) grabbed the Indian wickets.

Batting
Only Gatting could cross 200-run mark in the series dominated by India. Besides Gatting (293), only Gooch (175), Pringle (136) and Gower (101) could cross 100-run mark.

Captains
Gower captained in first test and then Gatting was made the captain for remaining two tests.

Wicketkeepers
Downton and French failed miserably with bat, while More flourished.

Allrounder
Derek Pringle emerged as the best allrounder. With 13 wickets he was the best English bowler and second best after bowler of the series, after Chetan Sharma. He also scored 136 runs with a half-century.
