India@CWG: Indian Medals at 1958 Commonwealth Games

After winning no medals in 1938 and 1954, Indians won the first medal in 1958 as they won two Gold Medals and 1 Silver as Indians participated in Athletics, Boxing and Wrestling.

    Milkha Singh Men’s 440 yards won with timing of 46.71 ahead of South African Malcolm (46.9) and Canadaian Terry (47.05)

Wrestling

    Gold: Lila Ram Sangwan (Heavyweight) def Jacobus of South Africa in the finals.
    Silver: Lachmi Kant Pandey (Welterweight) lost to Bashir of Pakistan
