Daredevils batsmen were clueless against the Sunrisers bowling, which has troubled every team and Sunrisers in an effort to finish fast finally won by 6 wickets.

Electing to bat first proved to be a wrong decision for Delhi Daredevils. Searching for their third consecutive win, they were instead bowled out for their lowest ever IPL total of 80 runs. Mahela started the inning with a boundary and a six in two overs of Steyn. But Ishant Sharma started with a maiden over against Sehwag in the second over of match, and earned the wicket of Mahela (11 runs, 12 balls, 1 four, 1 six) in his second over. Chand added 19 runs for second wicket with Sehwag (8 runs, 17 balls) who was bowled on first ball of Sammy in 8th over. Their highest scorer Chand (17 runs, 24 balls, boundaries) was bowled by Steyn in 11th over. The score was 80/3 in 11th over. After that only 30 runs was added as Delhi Daredevils succumbed to their lowest IPL total and overall 4th lowest total of IPL in 19.1 overs. Warner (8 runs), Mendis (11 runs), Jadhav (3 runs), Irfan Pathan (13 runs), Botha (1), Nadeem and Nehra (0) were other travellers on board to the train of lowest total. The most expensive for Sunrisers was Steyn who had 21/2 in 4 overs. Mishra was the other bowler to complete 4 overs with figure of 16/1 taking his tally to 17 wickets moving to third place in Purple Cap race and increasing his lead over Malinga. Ishant Sharma bowled a maiden (11/1 in 3 overs), Perera (11/2 in 3.1 ov), Sammy (2/10 in 3 overs) and Karan Sharma (1/9) were among the wickets.
Sunrisers Chase of 81 runs
Sunrisers intention was clear to improve their Net Run Rate. Parthiv Patel returned after a long gap and added 33 runs in 4.4 overs with Dhawan (16-ball 22 runs, 4 4s). Ashish Reddy (6 balls 5 runs) was promoted but he fell in 6th over. Patel (18 balls 14 runs, 1 four) joined by Sammy was the next to go reaching 100 run in this current edition, 7th batsman from Hyderabad. In 7 overs they were 43/3 and then Sangakkara realised they are losing wickets too quickly. He joined Sammy and they added 17 runs when Sanga (8 runs, 14 balls) bowed out trying to hit needless boundary of Botha. Hanuman Vihari (9 ball 11 runs, 2 boundaries) and Sammy (20-ball 18 runs, 1 six) took them home by 6 wickets with 37 balls remaining.
Spinners Botha (2/11 in 3 overs), Nadeem (0/7 in 2 ov) and Jeevan Mendis (1/16 in 3 overs) challenged the chase, but Irfan Pathan (0/6) in 1 over), Umesh Yadav 0/27 in 2.5 ov) and Nehra (1/14 in 2 overs) could not provide much support.
