P Kashyap (Badminton)
beats Belgian’s Y Tan 21-14, 21-12 in men’s singles badminton Men’s Singles first round. Kashyap plays Tien Minh Nguyen (Vietnam) in next round on July 31.

Soumyajit Ghosh (Table Tennis)
beats Brazil’s Tsuboi 11-9, 14-12, 7-11, 12-10, 5-11, 12-10 in Men’s Singles first round. Plays next round against

Vijender Singh (Boxing)
Won first round against Danabek of Kazakhstan in the Men’s 75 kg. Plays pre-quarters on Aug 2 against Terrell Gausha (USA).

Archery Men’s Team
Team of Jayanta, Tarundeep and Rahul lost to Japan during tie-breaker in the first round of team competition.

Jwala-Diju (Badminton Mixed Doubles)
lost first match 21-16, 21-12 against Indonesian Ahmad-Natsir. They still have chance to qualify.

Jwala-Ashwini (Badminton Women Doubles)
lost 21-16, 21-18 to Japanese Fujii M-Kakiiwa R. They still have chance.

Shiva Thapa (Boxing Bantamweight)
Lost in first round to Oscar Valdez 9-14.

Swarn Singh (Rowing)
List in Singles Skulls in Heat 1.

Vijay Kumar (Shooting 10m Air Pistol)
Shot 570 out of 600 to lose.

Ankita Desai (Table Tennis, Women’s Singles)
Lost to Ramirez 11-9, 11-8, 11-7, 8-11, 11-2.

Sania Mirza and Rushmi Chakarvarthi (Tennis Doubles)
Lost by 1-6, 6-3, 1-6 in first round to Chia-Jung Chuang and Su-Wei Hsieh of Chinese Taipei.

Chanu (Weightlifting)
Lost in Women’s 48 kg category.
