One Lakh for India’s 3rd World Champion in Boxing! Still Want Champions?

In an era where Indian Sports is reaching new heights, and Indian achievers are showered with prizes, Indian Boxing Association has only Rs 1 lacs for Sachin Singh, who is India’s only third World Champion. Sachin won gold in 46-49 kg category of AIBA Youth World Boxing Championship in St. Petersburg, Russia from November 17 – 26. Indians also won a Bronze medal.

16 year old Sachin Singh defeated Cuban Jorge Grinan 5:0 by an unanimous decision.
Another Indian Naman Tanwar won Bronze in Men’s heavyweight 91 kg category. He lost the semifinal to Pero of Cuba. Naman is assured of a cash prize of Rs 25,000.

    Vikas Krishan (– 64 kilograms, Light Welterweight) won GOLD 2010 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships
    Shiva Thapa won Silver in 2010 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships for Bantamweight event.
