Rio 2016: Two Weightlifters Represented India, Failed to Impress

Finishing in top seven (men) and top six (women at 2016 Asian Championships has earned Sathish and Chanu the chance to represent India in the Weightlifting competition. Sathish won Gold medal while Chanu won Silver medal at Commonwealth Games 2014. But at Rio 2016, Sathish could finish 11th while Chanu failed to finish.

10 Aug Sathish Sivalingam Men’s 77 Kg – Finished 11th with a lift of 329kg

In 2012, Ngangbam Soniya Chanu and Katulu Ravi Kumar represented India. Chanu finished 7th in Women’s 48 kg, while Ravi finished 15th in Men’s 69 Kg.
