Sourabh Creates another Upset, With Datt Reaches 3rd Round

Sourabh Verma and RMV Gurusai Datt took Indian challenge to third round of Indian Open 2011 Super Series when they won their 2nd round matches. Sourabh created another major upset by knocking out 7th seed Kenichi Tago of Japan.

    P Kashyap lost to 2nd seed Indonesian Taufik Hidayat in 39 minutes, 17-21, 19-21.
    Pradnya Gadre & Jyotshna Polavarapu of India lost to top seed Japanese pair Miyuki Maeda and Satoko Suetsuna in Women’s doubles 2nd round 21-8, 21-16, in 28 minutes.
    Akshay Dewalkar and Pradnya Gadre lost to 5th seed Malaysian pair Peng Soon Chan and Liu Ying Goh in 43 minutes, 21-18, 22-24, 21-12.
    Pranav Chopra and Prajakta Sawant of India lost to 7th seed Indonesian pair Muhammad Rijal and Debby Susanto in 39 minutes. Indonesians won 21-11, 19-21, 21-13.

Sourabh Verma took 1 hour and 3 sets to create the upset. The final score reads 21-19 18-21 21-11. He will now meet the top seed Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia or Hyun Lee of Korea in 3rd round.
