Repeat of Match 1 vs Pakistan for India
Indian performance was a repeat of their first match against Pakistan. They won the toss, elected to bat, Rohit Sharma failed, two consecutive century partnership with century from a batsman, and then good but less than expected total on the board.

Bowlers struck early and then except one comparatively 50+ partnership, did not let the opponent batsmen run amok.

South Africa Collapse, Disciplined Bowling and Fielding by India
Chasing 308 runs, South African batting faced a disciplined Indian bowling. QUinton de Kock (7) failed again. Amla (22) went trying to break the shackles. Faf du Plessis (55) was their only challenge. The big guys AB de Villiers (30) and David Miller (22) were run out.

Duminy (6), Philander (0), Steyn (1), Morne Morkel (2) and Imran Tahir (8) were part of the collapse. 68-run 3rd wicket partnership between Faf du Plessis and AB de Villiers was the only time where they showed some challenge. Otherwise, it was another one-sided match of the World Cup.

For Indians, except Umesh Yadav (0/34 in 6 overs) all the bowlers were successful. Shami (2/30 in 8 overs), Mohit Sharma (2/31 in 7 overs), Jadeja (1/37 in 8.2 overs) worked together as unit while Ashwin (3/41) was the most successful. Even Raina’s 1 over could yield only 3 runs.
