
25 year old Ankur Mittal earned India the 59th medal at World Cup event. Winning the silver medal, being separated by just a point from the Aussie Gold medal winner, Ankur qualified for the finals at 4th position in Qualification round, one place behind his countrymate, Sangram Dahiya. In the final while qualification round leader Scott from Great Britain settled for Bronze, the marathon fight for top position could see Ankur earning 74 points against 75 points of Aussie.
Shooting World Cup 2017: Results and Medal Tally
Before this Ankur Mittal had qualified to the final of Men’s Double trap competition at 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow where he finished 5th in the semifinals of 6 shooters.
This was India’s 2nd medal at 2017 World Cup event held in New Delhi.
