Besides Sakshi only Vinesh could reach next round as all others were knocked out in the first round. Indians won a Silver (Sushil Kumar) and Bronze (Dutt) at London Olympics. 344 wrestlers to compete for 18 events from 14-21 August. Freestyle and Greco-Roman category will have Men’s (6 events each) and Women’s (3 events each) section. Russia with 17 wrestlers has the biggest contingent followed by 14 each from Turkey and USA.

In 2012 Olympics, as India won two medals in Wrestling, Amit Kumar (55) finished 10th, Narsingh Yadav (74) finished 14th, while lone women wrestler Geeta Phogat (55 kg) finished 13th.
