Rahi Sarnobat Grabs 6th Quota for London Olympics

Rahi Sarnobat became the second Indian women after Annu Raj Singh and sixth Indian to earn shooting quota for London Olympics 2012.

Rahi won bronze in the finals of 25m pisto at the ISSF Rifle & Pistol World Cup on Thursday. Reigning Olympic champion Chen Ying of China won the Gold while Gundegmaa Otryad of Mongolia won silver in the event. Anisa Sayyed of India finished 7th in the same event in the finals, while Annu Raj Singh failed to qualify for the finals.

Hailing from Kolhapur, Maharashtra she has won two gold medals in Commonwealth Games 2010. She has the opportunity to match the achievements of her inspiration Tejaswini Sawant.

Earlier Annu Raj Singh became the first Indian women to qualify for London Olympics Shooting. Ronjan Sodhi, Gagan Narang, Hari Om Singh and Sanjeev Rajput have also qualified earlier.
