
2011 Series can be truly termed as the series between 2nd string teams. Ranked on top, India rested some key players and other players despite having the presence of some seniors provided a disappointing mediocre performace. Although the bottom placed West Indies team struggling its own devils still lost the close series 1-0.

For the first-ever time in India-West Indies series, batsmen from none of the teams could reach 300-mark. In fact only 5 batsmen managed to cross 200-mark, and only 9 batsmen could cross 100-run mark. The series saw batsmen of both teams – seniors or youngsters – struggling against the ball. The top 3 seniors of the tour Dravid (251), Laxman (243) and Chanderpaul (241) emerged as topmost run scorer of the forgettable series for batsmen from both sides.
Bowlers
Led by Man of the series Ishant Sharma, India grabbed 53 wickets with Ishant taking 22 wickets, a record by any Indian pacer in West Indies. West Indies on the other hand were impressive, still they could take only 48
wickets with Edwards taking 19 wickets.
Wicketkeepr
Dhoni had a disappointing series scoring 97 runs in 5 innings. Baugh had a better series with bat scoring 150 runs. Both had 12 dismissals against their name.
Captains
Dhoni could score just a half-century for his 97 runs and effected 12 dismissals. Sammy failed with the bat scoring only 68 runs. Even with ball he could earn 6 wickets only.
