The whitewash in 3-Test series saw complete domination by England. The series saw bowlers rule the batsmen and only Barrington could cross 300-mark with his three half-centuries, getting out twice in 90s.

Barrington continued his good performance against India scoring 324. Besides him Boycott reached 277 with the help of a double century and Graveney reached 251 with a century. Besides these three, Only captain Close could cross 100 for England.

Captain Pataudi Jnr scored 269 with a century to lead Indian batsmen. Wadekar (240), Engineer (198) and Kunderan (102) were the other batsmen who managed to cross 100-mark.

English bowlers grabbed 57 wickets out of the 60 wickets available in the series. Illingworth with 20 wickets emerged as the best bowler of the series. Snow (10), Hobbs (9), Close (8), and Brown (6) were other tormentors of Indian batsmen.
Indian bowlers could grab only 36 wickets. Chandrasekhar with 16 wickets was the best. Prasanna (9) and Bedi (7) could not contribute much. Venkataraghavan could grab a solo wicket.

Close grabbed 8 wickets but could score only 104 runs in 4 innings. Pataudi Jnr. with 269 runs was the third highest scorer of the series after Barrington and Boycott.

Engineer scored but not much reaching 198 runs with a half-century. Murray could score only 92 runs for England.
