Dravid Creates Record of Maximum Centuries in Series

With the century in The Oval, Rahul Dravid has become the first person to hit 3 centuries in a series twice against England.

Maximum Centuries
Dravid now holds the record of highest centuries by a batsman in India-England series history. Hitting 7 centuries, he holds the record jointly with Tendulkar.

Dravid has been such a challenge to England that he has prospered there always, Dravid is now the third highest run-scorer in India-England Test series history. He has scored 1950 in 37 innings of 21 test. Gavaskar (2483 runs in 67 innings of 38 tests) and Tendulkar (2367 runs in 47 innings of 28 tests) are ahead of Dravid.

Besides current 2011 Engand series, Rahul Dravid achieved the feat in 2002 too.

So far, there has been six such instances of batsmen hitting 3 or more centuries in a series.

Barrington in 1961-62, Azharuddin in 1986, Gooch in 1990, Vaughan in 2002, Dravid also in same 2002 series are the other such instances of maximum 3-centuries in India England test series.
