Bowlers
English bowler grabbed 95 Indian wickets in the 5 tests. Derek Underwood emerged as the highest wickettaker of the series with 29 wickets. Lever (26), Willis (20), C Old and Greig (10 each) were other wicket takers of the series for England.

Bedi was the best Indian bowler of the series with 29 wickets. Indians took 73 wickets with good contribution from Chandra (19) and Prasanna (18). Ghavri (6), Madan Lal (2) and Venkat (2) were also among the wickets.

Batsmen
Deniss Amiss with 417 runs, scored with a century in 9 innings emerged as the best batsman of the series. A Greig (342), Knott (268) and Brearley (215) were other prominent scorers.

Indian batsmen were tied down again by English pacers. Gavaskar with 394 and the only Indian century of the series amd Brajesh Patel with 282 runs were the only two batsmen to cross 200-run mark. Surender Amarnath with 180 runs was the third best batsman.

Wicketkeepers
Knott scored 268 runs in 8 innings with the help of two half centuries. Kirmani scored poor 139 runs in 8 innings.

Captains
Tony Greig emerged as the best allrounder with 268 runs and 10 wickets. India had two captains. Bedi emerged as the third best bowler of the series with 25 wickets.
