DC has a glorious past behind with one championship victory and another 4th place finish. But, in between lies a last place finish of 2008 too. MI had their best IPL in 2010 losing in the final. Chargers are the second best team of IPL in terms of result, but have won only 25 matches as compared to 36 losses. They have lost the maximum matches in IPL.
For MI, 2010 and 2011 performance have made them one of the top 3 teams of the tournament with a positive win-loss ration in last four editions. Sachin Tendulkar, their captain, was adjudged Man of the Series, despite losing the final in 2010. Overall MI has won 34, lost 27 and were part of an abandoned match till 2011.

If DC makes it a close match, that will be their victory. Their performance in the alst edition and also in the first match of the tournament makes them the most disintegrated and weakest team of the tournament. Sasngakkara’s return at helm, and Amit Mishra’s return to team may bring some positive energy. Sangakkara’s captaincy was overall failure during last season.
Amit Mishra who earned the player of the match award and helped Deccan Chargers record 10-run victory over MI in 2011 in a low score match, may again prove to be vital if DC has to register a victory against tournament’s one of the most strongest team.
