London Olympics 2012: Day 6 Results for India

Indian Shuttlers Kashyap and Saina Nehwal were the only two winners of the day for India. In all other games on Aug 1, Indians lost and while Hockey team is almost out of contention for top 2 finish with second loss, other losers are knocked out. Kashyap created history by becoming the first Indian male shuttler to reach the Olympic QF.

Medals Tally

Archery
Deepika Kumari is eliminated after losing to Amy Oliver (Great Britain) in the first round. With her loss India’s Archery hopes are all over.

Badminton

    P Kashyap def in pre-quarterfinals. He will meet top seed Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia in the Quarterfinals.

Saina def Dutch Yao 21-14, 21-16 to reach QF where she plays Tina Baun of Denmark.

Hockey
India lost 1-3 to New Zealand.

Shooting
Rahi and Annu Raj crashed out of Women’s 25m Rapid Fire Qualifying Round.

Tennis
Men’s Doubles Paes and Vardhan lost 7-6, 4-6, 6-3 to 2nd seed Tsonga and Llodra in the 2nd round.
