India has won 7 of the 11 South Asian Federation Football Championships. It has played Played 52, Won 36, Drew 9, Lost 7. Vijayan, Bhutia and Chhetri have been the pillars of Indian wins. India has scored 78 goals and conceded 31 goals till 2016 final. SAFF Championship: History of All Teams

India added 7th title after winning the championships in 1993, 1997, 1999, 2005, 2009 and 2011. SL, Bangladesh, Maldives and Afghanistan have won once each. In 1995 India lost the final 1-0 to Sri Lanka. In 2003 India finished third behind Bangladesh and Maldives, defeating Pakistan 2-1, in 2008 India lost the final 1-0 to Maldives, in 2013 they lost 2-0 to Afghanistan.
