Dhoni is the most successful in terms of wins and maximum test matches, Ganguly has won the maximum tests abroad, Gavaskar earned maximum draws, Gaekwad lost all matches, and Srikanth drew all the matches. Virat Kohli has already captained India in 17 ODIs winning 14 of them. Last time India were blanked 0-4 in Australia, under Dhoni. Virat Kohli has played 29 tests before becoming the captain, scoring 1855 runs at an average of 39.46 with 6 centuries and 9 half-centuries. 119 is his highest test score. His scored his first test century at Adelaide. Since then he has scored one century each at South Africa and New Zealand. His other centuries have come at India against Australia, New Zealand and England.
Kohli has been the captain of IPL Team Royal Challengers Bangalore too. But, he does not have a great result to show in IPL.
