Ind vs Aus 4th Test: Indian Tail Wags, Aussies Prepare for World Cup

Day 4 saw Indian tail wagging and Australians preparing for World Cup. Indian tail added valuable 123 runs today, while Aussies scored at a run rate of almost 6 runs an over to take the lead to 348 runs. They may like to add another 50 runs in 10 overs tomorrow and invite India to chase. Captain Smith has broken Bradman’s record of highest total in Ind-Aus test series. Captain Kohli needs to score at least 123 runs in his last innings of series to match Smith’s record. Day 5 certainly has lot more at stake than just the result of test.

    7th consecutive 50+ score by Chris Rogers in test matches.
    4th test half-century for Ashwin. He has also scored 2 centuries.

Indian Tail Wags, Finally
Starting the day at the overnight score, Captain Kohli (147) was the first to go on the bowling of Harris after India added 10 runs. Saha (35) became victim of Hazlewood. B Kumar (30) added 65 runs with Ashwin for 8th wicket but succumbed to a controversial catch on the bowling of Starc. Ahswin (50) took another 5 overs before being caught behind on the bowling of Starc adding 8 runs with Shami (16*) who remained unbean as Umesh Yadav (4) tries his luck too many times against Harris and perished. India folded at 475 reducing the margin to 97 runs.

Starc (3/106 in 32 overs), Lyon (2/123 in 46 overs), Watson (2/58 in 20 overs) and Harris (2/96 in 31 overs) where the successful bowlers with Hazlewood (1/64 in 31 overs).

Eye On Win, Aussies Play ODI
With 97 runs lead at hand and a session in their hand today, Aussies started in the ODI mode. Due to low light deliveries were not clearly visible, still they smacked 251/6 in 40 overs at a run rate above 6 runs per over. Chris Rogers (56), Smith (71) and Burns (66 in 39 balls) joined the party. Haddin (31) is unbeaten with Harris (0). Warner (4), Watson (16) and Marsh (1) succumbed early.

Ashwin bore the maximum brunt but was most successful too with a performance of 4/105 in 19 overs. B Kumar (1/46 in 8 overs), Shami (1/33 in 6 overs), Umesh Yadav (0/45 in 3 overs) were taken to cleaners. Raina (0/18 in 4 overs) was the most economic.
