World Cup History: South Africa, 2nd Best But Never In Final

South Africa stormed the World of Cricket with consistency. Even in World Cup their winning percentage is just below Australia. But, they have got tagged into a reputation of losing in knockouts. In 1992 with their re-entry in Cricket, South Africa got into the semifinal. But their love and hate relation with ICC rules started then. It costed them two finals. In 1992, they were asked to score 22 runs from 1 ball, while in 1999, despite a tie in semifinal they were knocked out. Reaching the semifinals thrice, South Africa has the second best winning percentage, emerging victorious in 31 matches in the 47 matches they have played till 2011 World Cup. They have lost 14 matches, while two of the matches ended in tie.
