Rajasthan Royals lost a close match to Mumbai Indians as their middle order failed. Mumbai Indians riding on half-century from Rayudu scored a big total and then McClenagham, Malinga and Vinay Kumar ensured third win for Mumbai Indians while Rajasthan Royals continued their slump after winning first five remaining at 2nd position in Points Tally. The day completed with both the home teams winning as Delhi had also won the first match.

Rayudu Leads MI to Big Score at Home
Sent to bat first at Home, Mumbai Batsmen attacked from the first ball. First it was Parthiv Patel who scored 14-ball 23 runs with 5 4s. By the time Dhawal Kulkarni grabbed a return catch on his balling in 5th over MI were at 43. Simmons continued scoring 31-ball 38 runs with a six and 4 4s. Ankit Sharma got him leg before and MI were 73/2 in 9.1. No. 3 Unmukt Chand failed again scoring 14-ball 13 runs and was sent back by Southee in next over. Rohit Sharma (21-ball 27 runs was the next to go adding 36 runs with Rayudu, who finally scored big for Mumbai Indians and earned Player of the Match. His unbeaten 27-ball 53 runs with 3 6s and 4 4s and 14-ball 24 runs from Pollard with a six and 2 4s took MI to 187/5.
For Royals, Southee (1/36), Theron (1/40), Watson (0/36 in 3), Dhawal (2/36 in 3) were all expensive. Ankit Sharma (1/29 in 4) was their best bowler. Binny gave 17 runs in 2 overs.
Samson Leads the Chase
Rahane and Watson started aggressively but Orange Cap holder Rahane could only add 16 runs scored on 12 balls with 2 4s as Rayudu caught him on the bowling of Vinay Kumar as score read 30/1 in 3.1. Captain Watson (23-ball 28) added 40 runs in 5 overs with Samson. Smith (20-ball 23) struggled and was gone in 15th over. Royals were 127/3 in 15 overs. From there Samson (466-ball 76 runs with 3 6s and 7 4s played exceptional knock but did not get enough support. Karuna Nair (6-ball 7), Hooda (1), Binny could not score remaining 27 runs and Mumbai Indians won by 8 runs, registering their third win.
MI saw some controlled bowling from their bowlers. McClenaghan was the most successful with 3/31 taking wickets of Samson, Smith and Karun Nair. Malinga had 1/34. Suchith was expensive with 1/39, while Harbhajan went wicketless at 0/34. Vinay Kumar, who bowled the last over to save 20 runs, finished with
1/39.
Rajasthan Royals remained at second position despite another defeat.
