Rio 2016: Indian Tennis Doubles Teams Fail to Deliver,

India sent 4 players for three events at Rio 2016. At London Olympics India had sent 7 players to participate in 3 events, two in Singles, three in doubles. Irony that Sania Mirza, the top ranked doubles player and Leander Paes, whos won Grand Slams in Mixed Doubles, did not make a pair for nation’s best chances of medals. Bopanna and Sania were seeded 4th, and finished 4th despite being the only seeds to enter semifinals. Paes remained the only Indian Olympic Medal winner in Tennis.
