RIO 2016: Sajan Prakash and Shivani Represented India in Swimming

22-year-old Idukki-born Sajan Prakash, also known as Indian Michael Phelps and 18-year-old Haryana girl Shivani Kataria represented India at Rio Olympics and got good exposure, although both could finish ahead of just one competitor in the only round they could participate.

    8 Aug Women’s 200 m Freestyle Heat Shivani Kataria – finished 41st (out of 42)
    8 Aug Men’s 200 m Butterfly Heat Sajan Prakash – finished 28th (out of 29)

In 2012 Olympics, the lone Indian swimmer Ullalmath Gagan finished 31st in Heat of 1500 m freestyle.
