Kashyap and Tanvi Lad played in the qualifier today. While Tanvi Lad lost the first match to Chisato Hoshi, Kashyap won both as David (Austria) retired and then in second match he defeated 4th seed Antonsen (Denmark). 2015 Quarterfinalist Kashyap will play 1st round vs Srikanth, quarterfinalist of 2013 Japan Open, when Ajay Jayaram and HS Prannoy also joined Srikanth in QF. Only one Indian has reached the semifinals of Japan Open since 2007 when it became part of Super Series. Saina Nehwal reached 2011 semifinals.
