Asian Women’s Twenty20: India Defeats Pakistan, Reaches on Top

Indian women defeat Pakistan team by 5 wickets in the 7th match of Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup. They chased 97/7 of Pakistan with 4 balls remaining. While Captian Harmanpreet Kaur remained unbeaten on 22-ball 26 runs, Mithali Raj scored the highest 36 runs. Pakistan’s Nain Abidi with 41-ball 37 was the highest scorer of the match as 3/20 from Ekta Bisht, 2/12 from Anuja Patil and 2/16 from Harmanpreet Kaur sealed India’s third straight win in their third game of the tournament.

India leads the pool stage where Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Thailand and Nepal are the other teams participating in the Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup 16.

Earlier India won by 9 wickets chasing 69/5 by Thailand and Bangladesh by 64 runs when they bowled out opponents for just 54 runs in the first match of the tournament.
