
Pankaj Advani, the only player in the world to win world titles in all formats of both Billiard and Snooker, won his 11th World Billiards Title in 150-Up format today winning World Billiards Championships title and his fourth double crown of Billiards. India’s young billiards player, Dhvaj Haria joined the league of great Indian players to win medals in both the formats in the same year.
In the best of 11 games final, Advani defeated Gilchrist 6-3 to win his overall 16th world title.
Final scores: 151 (98)-33, 150 (97)-95, 124-150, 101 (98)-150 (89), 150 (87)-50, 152-37, 86 (86)-150, 151 (110)-104, 150 (88)-15.
Today morning, Advani had beaten Htay 5-0 in the morning to storm into the finals while Gilchrist defeated India’s Dhvaj Haria 5-1 in another semi-final.
Dhvaj reached the semifinals to win the medal and join the Indian players like Geet Sethi, Devendra Joshi, Alok Kumar, Pankaj Advani who have achieved the unique feat of winning medals in both the formats during the same year.
